We are a small friendly club which welcomes members of all ages and abilities.

Our aim is to develop an individual's fitness and athletic ability in an enjoyable and safe environment to the point where he/she may choose to compete on equal terms with athletes from other clubs. Non-competitive members who enjoy the fitness aspect of training are also welcomed and encouraged.

So - whether you are just wanting to improve your general fitness, are an aspiring Olympic athlete, or fit somewhere between the two, why not come and join us?

Club subscriptions are payable on joining and are renewable annually in January. Club members are registered with the England Athletics., and are then "Attached Runners", which makes entry to events cheaper and earns discount on purchases from many sports retailers.

Training sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. These are generally held at the Oak Leaf Sports Complex, Newton Aycliffe, on Tuesday evenings at 19:00 and the Shildon Stadium 2000, on Thursday evenings at 18:15.

Just turn up on either day and introduce yourself!

Training runs are sometimes held on Sunday mornings and these are communicated through e-mail or announced at the training sessions.

Please remember that all of the coaches give up their free time to coach the athletes and should be given the appropriate respect. Detailed risk assessments of all coaching activities have been undertaken to ensure the safety of all participants.

The Club competes in the North Yorkshire and South Durham Winter Cross Country League. Other events are available, such as the North East, Northern and National XC Championships.  It is necessary to purchase a club vest to compete in these events.  Club members also take part in many other running events both locally and nationally.

We also compete in off road trail races, road races, and fell races, e.g. The Tees Forest 5K series held during the summer on Thursday evenings.  This is a popular series with many club members competing.  We organize a number of social outings where transport is hired to go to a specific race after which we enjoy refreshments (and sometimes even food!).
